Humanitarian logistics encompasses moving goods and equipment, relocating disaster-affected people, transferring casualties and moving of aid, relief workers and volunteers. Around two-thirds of funding in each emergency is spent on logistics, highlighting the need for effective and efficient systems.
This highly practical course provides an overview of logistics in humanitarian emergency operations. The course equips and refreshes individuals with the background and knowledge to apply logistics skills through a combination of on-site visits, exercises and scenarios.

In addition to the Standard and Early Bird discounted course fee rates, RedR Australia offers a limited number of places on our courses to young Australians who aspire to a career in the humanitarian sector. To be eligible for the Young Humanitarian Professionals (YHP) rate you must:
- Be at or under 31 years of age.
- Hold a post-graduate qualification in a discipline of relevance to humanitarian work
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Provide evidence to substantiate the above.
- Note the above criteria only applies for the YHP Rate, otherwise, anyone can attend our training courses
Degree of Difficulty

Essential Course Information
Registration takes place from 9am on the first day of the course. To receive your course certificate you must complete the entire course.
Please arrange your own travel to and from our training venues.
Travel insurance is recommended for all applicants and is mandatory for international participants.
It is strongly recommended that you complete the prescribed reading and online module before course commencement. We will send you pre-reading approximately two weeks prior to the course.
