RedR Australia would like to thank all of our wonderful partners and friends near and far for their generous support on RedRDay 2018, held on Friday, May 4.
Offices around Australia were decorated red and enjoyed red-themed baking stalls, with some also dressing in their finest red-coloured gear in celebration of our annual fundraising day.
This year, 100 per cent of funds raised went towards our humanitarian response to the current Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh. According to UNHCR, the refugee settlements in Cox’s Bazar have become home to more than 720,000 displaced Rohingya people escaping escalating violence in Rakhine State in Myanmar since last August.
As monsoon rains begin to cause flooding across already vulnerable shelters, RedR Australia has increased its response, positioning 22 technical experts on the ground with our UN agency partners in a range of fields, including shelter, engineering, logistics, child protection, and sanitation.
RedR Australia would like to once again thank all our friends and partners for their ongoing, generous support in helping us to select, train and deploy the best technical experts to help us help others around the globe.
